Dr. Brendan Mann is a research scientist with an interest in bridging the divide between computational biologists and conventional, “wet lab” biologists to improve the translation of omics research. He received his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from George Washington University where his dissertation research identified a novel subset of unconventional T cells that harbor persistent HIV-1 infection within individuals on durable, long-term antiretroviral therapy. Prior to graduate school, he worked as a research assistant within the Viral Sequencing Core within the US military HIV Research program in Silver Spring, MD.
